Ask Mrs Portly

Are you having a cooking crisis and don’t know where to turn? Is there something about cooking you’ve always wanted to know but been too embarrassed to ask?

Drop me a line and I’ll try to help. I can’t always guarantee an on-the-spot response but I will get back to you.

From time to time I’ll write up some of your questions so we can all learn from them – so don’t forget to tell me if you’d like to remain anonymous.

You can also use this form if you’d like to contact me professionally.

  1. Hi Linda,
Thank you for posting such a loving tribute to my godfather and Uncle Matt. He would be so deeply touched. I love how you captured and shared what we know so well. It was beautiful.
Also, I’ve never made the tomato and cheese pie, but I’m going to make it for my family this weekend. Even in his passing, he’s turning me on to new people and foods 🙂 !! I hope to have the pleasure to meet you in person some day. I’ve enjoyed reading about you and look forward to future posts.
    Sincerely, Ginny

    • Dear Ginny, thank you, I’m so glad you approve the piece. We held Matthew in great affection and we are both so very sorry for your loss. I hope you enjoy the pie … it really is a clever and delicious piece of cooking. And yes, I hope to meet you too some day. Thanks for the follow here … I hope we get to talk again soon, online at least. Warmest best wishes, Linda.
